Saying goodbye to old habits

A few months ago we (including my friends) were so annoyed with our life. It was one of the worst parts in our gloomy but hip existence. We've been friends for so long now that I think is the reason why we experience severe happiness and depression at the same time. Our intertwined fate is to blame for all this.

Let me give you a very brief summary why this manic depression came to us. All of a sudden, a few months back, we all received a call from the companies we applied for ( just 2 or 3 days interval). We all got in and started working for a job we don't really like. Weeks after getting into our new world, we all agreed that our job's a joke. It has no clear cut job description, it was not paying well, it was not fulfilling, that we just don't belong to the job...etc, etc, etc. Everyone made lousy excuses why we should not keep our jobs. To add injury to our crazy state of mind, a friend broke up with her long time BF, the other friend stopped going to school...etc...

It may sound a cliché but in the worst part of your life you will see who your true friends are. True enough we all stayed together, a flock of overly depressed young adults. We often go out together to visit a world of our own. Almost every after our 8 hours work day we meet at our sacred sanctuary “C5”. Its our haven, a place of freedom and solitude. It is where we see beer as water, cigar as air and where find pleasure in the most uncommon way.

AS I look back to that part of my life I'm glad it all happened. I'm even happier because I found a way out of that bad fate. I'm pleased to say that during that crisis some good people came to tag along and be a part of the roller coaster adventure. I'm even thankful for the simple fact that I was able to share this experience with some of the people that matters most to me.

At this point I'm saying goodbye to the old me, no more beer and night outs. If my friends would make an entry about this experience I'm sure they will do the same (atik lng bitaw oi... dli btaw ko xure). BAGONG BUHAY!!!!

Man in the mirror

I'm gonna make a change, for once in my life

It's gonna feel real good, gonna make a difference

Gonna make it right...

As I, turn up the collar on my favorite winter coat

This wind is blowin' my mind

I see the kids in the street, with not enough to eat

Who am I, to be blind? Pretending not to see their needs

A summer's disregard, a broken bottle top

And a one man's soul

They follow each other on the wind ya' know'

Cause they got nowhere to go

That's why I want you to know

I'm starting with the man in the mirror

I'm asking him to change his ways

And no message could have been any clearer

If you wanna make the world a better place

Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love

It's time that I realize

That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan

Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone?

A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken hear

tAnd a washed-out dream

They follow the pattern of the wind, ya' see

Cause they got no place to be

That's why I'm starting with me

I'm starting with the man in the mirror(Ooh!)

I'm asking him to change his ways(Ooh!)

And no message could have been any clearer

If you wanna make the world a better place

Take a look at yourself and then make a change

si bert....bow

Bert is our favorite teller in METRO BANK Sta. Ana Branch. He is my friend and my classmate from way back then. He is wickedly funny and annoying (in a good way). He makes fun of me most the time. He calls me charcoal, shadow and even tease me ILONG. This blog is dedicated to my dear friend BERT (AS PROMISED!) This is an out pour of rage, my revenge for his heart breaking comments and a tribute to our funny friendship.

  2. Kahit kunukulit at inaasar pa siya habang nasa work, ayaw paring ma short o ma over.

  5. Bert lives with the idea of METRO BANK with him your in good hands.

Bakit kailangan mo xang kaibiganin:

  2. Ang sarap ng handaan pag fiesta or bday.
  3. Pwede kang mg-utang sa kanya.
  4. Kasi mabigat ang GOLDEN WATCH niya. Raise your left hand beh.
  5. Kasi maputi daw xa.
  10. Oh as promised ha.... gi buhatan ta jud ka ug entry sa akong blog.hahahahah

strings on the shed

I am just so proud of this group. Its composed of some of Davao's best talents. From the music to the lyrics to the voice. They offer the most calming and serenading sound you'll ever hear. This group is named STRINGS ON THE SHED. They perform with such ease and aura far more better than all the acoustic group I know.

I personally came across some of their members (schoolmates ko! Like TR, Jobo, ray, RAffy...hehehe) and its great to see them bloom at their chosen craft. TR (CHESKA) the girl on lead vocals is one of the finalist of GMA7 coca-cola ride to fame. In fact in my personal opinion she has the best voice in the competition.

Catch them on their gigs and live performances. You'll surely never have enough of them.

Support Davao Talents. We have everything at its best and in the field of music STRINGS ON the SHED is there to validate the claim.

lets count our blessings-- lets share

Last year, December 2006, we (xmpre with juvy, xtian, yen) started this Christmas party for the “Isla Verde kids”. We invited kids residing at Isla Verde with ages ranging from 4-7. We had very few resources at that time considering we were jobless and still dependent with the financial support from our parents. Most of our give aways were donations from RODY PROJECT SEASON 2 finalist (vantoy, Kuya Veejay, Tine2, etc.), Karla, Aljo, Mady, Cristy, Cafe family and from our own pockets(thank you guys!).

This year we are planning to do it again. For the Isla Verde kids christmas is not that important and so we wish to remind them again that this is a season for joy and giving.

We would like to ask for your support in this project. Please leave a comment in this blog if you have something to share. We need toys, candies, old clothes, school supplies and even financial support. Lets thank the Lord for our blessings and share them.

Let us always remember our responsibility to our community and our fellowmen.

Lets count our blessings.

Thank you very much.

I'll Be There For You
So no one told you life was gonna be this way
Your jobs a joke, you're broke, your love life's D.O.A.
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
And it hasn't been your day, your week, your month,or even your year
I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...
You're still in bed at ten
And work began at eight
You've burned your breakfast
So far...
things are goin' great
Your mother warned you there'd be days like these
Oh but she didn't tell you when the world has brought
You down to your knees that...
I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...
No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you're the only one who knows
What it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even at my worst I'm best with you,
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
And it hasn't been your day, your week, your month,or even your year...
I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...
I'll be there for youI'll be there for you
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...
